Join our vibrant kitchen team at K’gari Beach Resort on beautiful K’gari. We’re looking for an experienced Chef who is passionate about creating quality dishes, leading by example in the kitchen and delivering memorable dining experiences for guests across our resort outlets.

About the Role

As Chef de Partie, you will support the delivery of consistent, high-quality food across K’gari Beach Resort by planning menus, preparing and cooking dishes, monitoring presentation standards and helping guide the kitchen team. You will work closely with managers, kitchen and waiting staff, and relevant specialists to resolve food preparation issues while maintaining safe, hygienic and efficient kitchen operations.

The position is located at K’gari Beach Resort on beautiful K'gari (Fraser Island). K’gari Beach Resort is part of the KBRV Resort Operations Pty Ltd.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes, menu specifications and resort standards.
• Assist the Head Chef with menu planning, seasonal menu development, recipe creation and menu costing to ensure a diverse and profitable food offering.
• Ensure consistent food quality, portion control, presentation and timely service across all kitchen operations.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and workplace health and safety in compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
• Support the management of stock levels, ordering, inventory control and stocktakes to minimise waste and maintain operational efficiency.
• Monitor food costs and contribute to initiatives that improve kitchen productivity and profitability.
• Lead, train, mentor and supervise junior chefs, apprentices and kitchen stewards to support skill development and team performance.
• Coordinate food preparation and service activities to ensure smooth kitchen operations in high-volume environments.
• Liaise effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate and timely meal service and a positive guest experience.
• Assist with the setup and operation of both on-site and off-site kitchen facilities as required.
• Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas to ensure they remain safe, clean and operational.
• Participate in staff training, safety drills, departmental meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to a positive team culture by supporting company values, delivering exceptional customer service and achieving operational goals.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant qualifications, e.g. Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience as a Chef, or equivalent role in the hospitality industry.
• Food Safety Course essential, with Responsible Service of Alcohol desirable.
• Previous experience in a high-volume, multi-outlet resort, hotel or commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and within set guidelines.
• A positive can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, strong presentation standards and a passion for creating quality cuisine.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Commis Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving general and specialised meals for guests in line with menu guidelines, recipes and Kingfisher Bay Resort standards. You will work as part of a supportive kitchen team across resort outlets, helping maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety.

Key Role Requirements

• Prepare, cook and serve general and specialised meals for guests according to menu guidelines, recipes and direction from the Head Chef.
• Maintain excellent hygiene, cleanliness, food safety and Workplace Health & Safety standards in the kitchen.
• Support quality, presentation and timely delivery of meals in line with Kingfisher Bay Resort standards and company policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with Food and Beverage Attendants, Apprentices, Kitchen Stewards and the broader Kingfisher Bay Resort kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with stock management, stocktakes and estimating food requirements when required.
• Liaise with Food and Beverage Attendants regarding meal completion and service instructions.

• Participate in workplace health and safety activities, training, meetings and emergency drills as required.
• Work across resort outlets and split shifts, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, as operationally required.

About the Opportunity

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a trade-qualified Demi Chef to join our culinary team at K'gari Beach Resort on beautiful K'gari. If you bring creativity, enthusiasm and a passion for great food, this is your chance to make your mark in a supportive island kitchen team.

This full-time role is 76 hours per fortnight across a broad rostering system and requires you to relocate and live on the island at K'gari Beach Resort.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head Chef, the Demi Chef is responsible for cooking and serving general and specialised meals for guests according to menu guidelines, recipes and K'gari Beach Resort standards. You will bring flair, teamwork and motivation to the kitchen while supporting the delivery of high-quality dining experiences for our guests.

Key Role Requirements

• Cook and serve general and specialised meals for guests according to menu guidelines, recipes and direction from the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
• Maintain excellent hygiene, cleanliness, food safety and Workplace Health & Safety standards in the kitchen.
• Ensure quality, presentation and timely delivery of meals in line with K'gari Beach Resort standards and company policies and procedures.
• Communicate efficiently with Food and Beverage staff and work collaboratively with apprentices, kitchen stewards and the broader kitchen team.
• Assist with baking, pastry cooking, butchering, stock management and kitchen preparation as required.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent higher education.
• Food Safety Course essential, with Responsible Service of Alcohol desirable.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Demi Chef role preferred, with demonstrated experience in a high-volume kitchen environment.
• Ability to work across a broad rostering system with efficient and effective time management skills.
• Advanced communication and organisational skills, exceptional grooming and presentation, and a flair for creating excellent cuisine.
• Previous experience within a multi-outlet resort or hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with merchandise vendors to ensure product offerings align with seasonal trends, guest preferences, and market demands
• Oversee product selection, pricing strategies, and inventory management for all retail operations
• Monitor retail performance metrics, sales targets, and profitability across all outlets
• Ensure visual merchandising standards and customer service excellence in all retail spaces
• Manage retail team performance, training, and development initiatives
• Maintain full P&L accountability for retail operations including revenue targets and cost control

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field
• Minimum 5 years in senior food and beverage management roles
• Proven experience managing multiple venues and diverse dining concepts
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing head chefs and senior staff
• Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance
• Excellent financial acumen with budget management experience
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous resort or island-based hospitality experience

The opportunity

We are searching for a trade qualified Electrician who is ready to join our team of dedicated tradespeople based at Kingfisher Bay Resort, K'gari. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the Electrician role will deliver preventative and repair maintenance across two resort properties, including undertaking electrical testing and compliance. 

This is a full-time permanent opportunity working up to 76 hours per fortnight requiring relocation into the resorts staff village. We’re looking for a Gardener to join our Maintenance team at K’gari Beach Resort, located on the world‑heritage listed K’gari (Fraser Island).

About the Role

As our trusted Guest Relations Agent, your primary focus is picking up and dropping off K’gari Explorer Tour guests. You will greet guests, assist with their luggage, and help deliver a wonderful first and last impression of Kingfisher Bay Resort.

This is a permanent part-time position working a variety of shifts, including split shifts (for example 6:00am–9:00am and 5:00pm–7:00pm), approximately 5 to 8 hours per day, across weekdays, weekends and public holidays.

About the Role

As a Guest Service Agent you will be the first point of contact for our valued guests, ensuring their journey to and from K'gari (Fraser Island) is seamless and enjoyable. The role will include providing exceptional customer service, handling reservations, and assisting guests with their inquiries. 

You will be based at Sealink's mainland office, working with a dynamic team at the picturesque location of River Heads. This position is a part time 6-month contract role, with potential to extend. Working 7am - 4pm, 3 - 4 days weekly, including some weekends, across a 14-day roster.

We are looking for someone who is local to the Hervey Bay area, who is able to provide outstanding customer service and work in a professional and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist guests with general enquiries.
• Handle reservations, ticketing, and check-in procedures efficiently.
• Provide accurate information about Fraser Island attractions, activities, and services.
• Address guest inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations. 
• Manage phone calls and direct all guests to the appropriate check in areas.
• Assist in coordinating bus and guest arrivals when needed.
• Accurately obtain and process all guest registration information and resort information.

The Opportunity

We’re searching for an experienced Handyperson to join our Maintenance team at K'gari Beach Resort, on K'gari (Fraser Island).  Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will undertake preventative and repair maintenance of resort infrastructure and keeping of the grounds. This role requires an eye for detail, ability to work unsupervised, utilisation of power tools, multi-tasking and application of workplace health and safety.  Our ideal candidate has a trade qualification with previous resort/hotel experience.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, you must be passionate about creating a skilled and positive team environment and prioritise the delivery of a premium guest experience.

• Supporting the Housekeeping Manager with workforce management, administration, rostering and operational service of the entire housekeeping department. 
• Supervise and perform various cleaning duties of Hotel Rooms and Apartments in compliance to resort standards 
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of guest rooms and provide necessary training to staff to ensure standards are met
• Supervise and provide mentorship to team leaders 
• Monitor as required the disposal of laundry and garbage and recycle items where necessary 
• Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to, including compliance of maintenance and HSE reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a housekeeping supervisor role in a similar environment with meticulous attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work in a close team environment 
• Current Australian manual car drivers' licence (essential)
• Previous hotel or resort cleaning experience
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise multiple tasks with a commitment to deliver results
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Proven ability to work under pressure and resolve problems
• Experience in motivating team members to achieve targets and outcomes

K'gari Beach Resort is seeking a professional Kitchen Steward to join our team in the resort's restaurant 'McKenzies on 75' offering buffet breakfasts, al-la-carte dining and pool-side pizzas in a relaxed coastal setting. You will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen facilities. Your main responsibilities will include washing dishes, sanitising surfaces, and assisting with food preparation as needed.

We are seeking an organised and motivated Kitchen Steward to join our dynamic team in the Kitchen Department. Working under the guidance of the Executive Chef, you'll ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and sanitised, maintaining them in ready-for-use condition. Your responsibilities include operating a commercial size dishwasher, handling food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. You will also need to adhere to the Food Safety Program and manage shift operations when required.

About the Opportunity 
  
Join our Tours and Workshop team as a Detailer, working with our rotating fleet of vehicles based at our mainland workshop in Urangan, Hervey Bay, with opportunities to work and stay on K'gari as required. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, a practical hands-on approach and pride in keeping vehicles clean, presentable and ready to support memorable guest experiences. 

The primary purpose of the Detailer role is to maintain SeaLink K'gari’s rotating fleet of vehicles and plant in a clean, safe and presentable condition. You will be responsible for washing, polishing, vacuuming, cleaning interiors and exteriors, completing minor touch-ups and supporting the workshop team to keep vehicles ready for operation. The role may also involve driving and relocating heavy vehicles, including buses and trucks, as required. This role may require work on K’gari, including overnight stays, as operational needs arise. 
  
Key Role Requirements

• Actively follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures, including safe manual handling, correct use of equipment and safe handling of cleaning chemicals. 
• Wash, dry, polish and wax vehicle and plant exteriors to ensure the fleet is clean and presentable.
• Vacuum and clean vehicle interiors, including carpets, upholstery, compartments, windows, tyres and wheel arches. 
• Apply appropriate cleaning agents to remove stains and complete minor touch-ups or paint restoration tasks where required. 
• Drive and relocate heavy vehicles, including buses and/or trucks, as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the workshop and yard areas, including sweeping, tidying workspaces, removing waste and supporting general yard duties as required. 

 
Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in auto detailing or a similar vehicle cleaning/detailing role. 
  MR driver’s licence preferred, with the ability to drive and relocate heavy vehicles as required. 
• Physically fit and able to complete hands-on work for extended periods. 
  Strong attention to detail, a positive can-do attitude and the ability to work unsupervised within set guidelines.
• Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach when working with guests, team members, contractors and visitors.

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Fixed Term Master IV to join our marine operations team, supporting passenger, guest and cargo transfers to and from K’gari. This role is ideal for a confident vessel operator who takes pride in safe operations, clear communication and delivering a welcoming experience for guests and passengers.

About the Role

As a Master IV, you will be accountable for operating vessels in a safe, professional and seamanlike manner, with responsibility for passenger and cargo safety, pre-departure checks, vessel reporting and day-to-day operational communication. You will provide informative commentary where required and work closely with the Marine Operations team to ensure services run safely, efficiently and in line with relevant marine and workplace health and safety requirements.

Key Role Requirements

• Operate vessels safely and professionally, with due regard to relevant marine laws, procedures and conditions.
• Manage the safety of passengers, guests, crew and cargo during vessel operations.
• Complete pre-departure checks and promptly report faults, operational concerns, hazards, near misses or incidents.
• Provide clear operational communication and verbal or written reports to marine leadership as required.
• Deliver friendly, informative and professional service to passengers, resort guests, contractors and visitors.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Current Master IV certificate of competency or equivalent qualification required for the role.
• Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 or relevant engineering qualification highly regarded.

The opportunity 

Bring your hands-on approach to maintain the resort's presentation by cleaning the indoor and outdoor public areas at K'gari Beach Resort. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, an ability to keep up with the physically demanding nature of the role. and most importantly take pride in what they do! 

This is a permanent part-time opportunity, working up to 76 hours per fortnight across a 10-day rostering system (4 days off). The successful candidate must be able to work a combination of shift times from early mornings, afternoons and evenings. This role will also require supporting the Housekeeping team when required with their daily duties.

Our General Store at Kingfisher Bay Resort, K'gari offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and dedicated retail attendant to join our team on a two-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extending in the Retail or Food & Beverage department. Providing outstanding shopping experience to guests and island travellers. The role boasts a variety of aspects that will see you deliver great retail operations, manage point-of sale, arranging store merchandising and serving up coffee along with fuel for traveller's setting off on adventures across the island's sandtracks.

This remote base is only accessible by 4WD and ignites a sense of adventure within a relaxed coastal escape. About the Role

Bring your experience working in a retail/customer service position to the General Store at K'gari Beach Resort. Reporting to the Group Retail Manager and working alongside a small team of Retail Attendants, you will manage point-of sale, store merchandising and serving up supplies for traveller's setting off on adventures across the island's sandtracks.

This is a permanent part-time retail role, working up to 76 hours per fortnight across a broad rostering system, 10 days on / 4 days off. The ideal candidate will be able to relocate into the staff accommodation based at the resort.

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced beauty/massage Spa Therapist to join our Island Day Spa team at Kingfisher Bay Resort, K'gari (Fraser Island). As a Spa Therapist, you will deliver a luxurious spa journey, ensuring each guest feels welcomed and cared for with exceptional service from the beginning to completion.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional team player who knows how to deliver great service and exceed guest expectations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in facials, body treatments and a strong background in massage. Working in a small team you would be self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. Excellent personal presentation standards and strong communication skills are a must.

Reporting to the Spa Manager this is a permanent part-time position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight on a rotating 7-day roster, including weekends. The successful candidate is available for an immediate start and can be either local to Hervey Bay with the willingness to commute between River Heads and K'gari daily or be able to relocate to the island for a live-on position.

Key Role Requirements

• Body massages - including Pregnancy, Hot Stone, Facials, Pedicures, Body Treatments such as Body Scrub/ Body Wraps
• Greeting guests in a friendly, professional manner
• Managing reception duties / efficiently handling guest queries
• Performing up to five massage treatments per shift
• Be able to confidently recommend Skin Care / Home Care advice
• The ability to follow instructions, adhere to SOP’s and open to constructive feedback 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Beauty Therapy OR Diploma in Remedial Massage
• A minimum 2 years experience as a spa therapist 
• Previous experience in a supervisory position, desirable
• Spa therapy experience in a resort day spa environment or similar, desirable
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently
• Previous experience in front desk, answering calls, emails etc
• Great problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude

The Opportunity

K'gari Explorer Tours, an award-winning team based in Hervey Bay and Rainbow Beach, are looking for local Tour Guides to provide our guests with off-road adventures on K'gari (Fraser Island), the UNESCO World Heritage listed island. These are permanent part-time roles based in Rainbow Beach with a lot to offer! 

We explore the island's most iconic spots including Lake McKenzie, Eli Creek and the Maheno Shipwreck. The ever-changing landscapes of K'gari are home to an array of natural wonders from freshwater lakes with white sandy beaches, desert-like sand blows to ancient rainforests with rare king ferns growing in sand.

Our guides travel in comfort, with our modern air-conditioned 4WD buses with no cooking or camp set-ups required!  We also provide your meals on every trip, so you can focus on providing the best experience to our visitors. Plus, if you're required to stay overnight it will be in our resort accommodation. 

About You

We are looking for someone with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experience, enjoys tour guiding and who has a love for K'gari (Fraser Island) and its surrounds. You'll be a natural leader with a sense of humour and an ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Ideally, you've already worked in a role where you have been a tour guide or taught others, and ideally have an appreciation for the outdoors.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Hold a current First Aid Certificate (or have the ability to obtain)
• Hold a current MR driver's license and QLD Transport Driver Authorisation (or have the ability to obtain)
• Previous guiding experience (desirable)

The opportunity

Join the team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on stunning K’gari (Fraser Island). We are looking for a hands-on Yardperson / Sewerage Treatment Plant Operator to help keep our island resort grounds, facilities and essential services operating safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

In this varied role, you will support the day-to-day presentation and upkeep of the resort’s outdoor areas, including gardens, lawns, landscaped spaces and yard areas. You will also assist with pool testing, water quality monitoring and sewerage treatment plant operations, helping ensure our systems are well maintained and compliant with environmental and regulatory requirements.

This is a permanent part-time, live-on island position based at Kingfisher Bay Resort, with staff accommodation available on K’gari at an affordable rate. Availability is required during peak seasons. To be successful, you will be physically fit, well presented, a reliable team player and enjoy hands-on work outdoors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain resort gardens, lawns and landscaped areas to a high standard
• Perform daily gardening, mowing, pruning, weeding, fertilising and irrigation duties
• Support sustainable landscaping and water-efficient practices
• Assist with replanting, mulching and nursery propagation
• Conduct daily pool testing and maintain safe water chemistry
• Clean and inspect pools, filtration and pump systems, reporting faults as required
• Operate and monitor the sewerage treatment plant approximately two days per week
• Record water quality data and support preventative maintenance of systems
• Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance requirements are met
• Support general maintenance tasks and assist trades as required
• Oversee waste removal and maintain clean and tidy yard areas

Skills, qualifications and experience

• Previous experience in a similar hands-on grounds, maintenance, landscaping, pool or water treatment role
• A valid open driver’s licence, including the ability to drive manual vehicles
• Water treatment experience, or a willingness to develop capability in this area
• A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to record information accurately and follow procedures
• Chainsaw ticket desirable
• Certificate in Horticulture desirable
