Kelsian Group Limited is looking for an experienced Data Governance Specialist to help elevate the quality, security, and reliability of Kelsian's enterprise data. This is an exciting opportunity for a governance-minded data professional who enjoys building frameworks, improving data quality, influencing stakeholders, and embedding good data practices across a complex organisation.
About the Role
In this role you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining Kelsian's data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and management policies. You will work closely with IT, business users and data stewards to uplift data capability, improve data quality, and ensure that our data is accurate, secure, compliant and trusted.
You will also contribute to the delivery of our Data Strategy, facilitate the Data Governance Council, and play a key role in supporting regulatory, privacy and cyber-security obligations across the organisation.
What You Will Be Doing
Strategy & Frameworks
- Contribute to the design and implementation of Kelsian's Group Data Governance Framework.
- Maintain a Data Governance Roadmap focused on quality, policy adoption and stewardship.
- Ensure governance aligns to regulatory, privacy, and cyber-security frameworks.
Data Governance & Systems
- Develop and embed governance policies, standards and processes.
- Build and maintain data glossaries, data lineage and catalogue assets.
- Configure and enhance governance and data quality tools.
- Ensure governance is applied across the full data lifecycle.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Define and monitor data quality metrics, profiling and remediation requirements.
- Drive uplift in data governance capability across the business.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of Data & Analytics team processes.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate the Data Governance Council and support data trustees, stewards and custodians.
- Translate governance requirements into clear, actionable deliverables.
- Act as a trusted advisor on governance, privacy, quality and best practice.
Risk, Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with data protection legislation and internal security policies.
- Support internal and external audits relating to governance, security and privacy.
- Report on governance KPIs, risks and audit outcomes.
About You
You will bring a combination of technical capability, governance expertise, and strong stakeholder engagement skills. You enjoy solving problems, influencing across diverse teams, and helping business units build trusted, high-quality data assets. You will also require:
- Strong knowledge of data governance methodologies (e.g., DAMA- DMBOK).
- Understanding of data privacy, classification, and security principles.
- Skills in data quality profiling, analysis and remediation.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in SQL or similar data programming languages.
- Experience with governance tools such as Collibra or Informatica (Highly valued).
- Certifications such as CDMP or DCAM (desirable).
- Familiarity with modern cloud data and analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Power BI) and integration technologies.
- Tertiary degree in information management, governance, analytics or related field.
