As we continue to scale our digital and technology transformation agenda, we are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of IT PMO to establish and lead our enterprise-wide portfolio governance capability. The Opportunity This is a critical leadership role responsible for establishing and enforcing how technology investment is prioritised, governed, and delivered across the Group. Working directly with the Group CIO and Executive stakeholders, you will build and lead a high-performing enterprise PMO. You will bring structure, discipline, and transparency to how initiatives are assessed, funded, sequenced, and delivered. You will operate across the full lifecycle of technology investment, from intake and prioritisation through to delivery and benefits realisation, ensuring initiatives are aligned to strategy, delivery capacity, and risk appetite. This role suits a leader who can operate in a complex, decentralised environment, and is comfortable working hands-on to establish governance, improve delivery discipline, and drive accountability across the organisation. Key Responsibilities - Establish and lead the enterprise IT PMO, including governance frameworks, standards, and reporting
- Own portfolio prioritisation, investment governance, and funding control across all technology initiatives
- Ensure the organisation is working on initiatives it has the capacity and capability to deliver, aligned to enterprise priorities and the IT Strategy
- Design and embed consistent PMO processes, including intake, prioritisation, resource management, and delivery governance
- Improve project discipline across the Group, including business case development, planning standards, and execution consistency
- Enforce governance gates across intake, approvals, procurement, and delivery lifecycle
- Provide leadership and oversight of enterprise technology initiatives, including major transformation programs such as large global initiatives such as ERP (Finance/HCM), Data and Analytics, AI/Innovation and Safety
- Step in to directly lead or stabilise critical programmes where required
- Deliver a single enterprise view of demand, capacity, dependencies, and sequencing
- Drive benefits realisation, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable outcomes including cost efficiency and productivity uplift
- Build trusted relationships with Executive stakeholders, providing clear, data-driven challenge and insight
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of approximately six PMO and project delivery professionals
About You You are an experienced PMO or portfolio leader who has built or led PMO capability in a complex organisation. You are comfortable working in environments where governance and structure are still maturing and can bring the discipline and follow-through required to improve delivery outcomes. You bring a strong balance of commercial thinking, delivery experience, and stakeholder engagement, and are confident influencing senior stakeholders while remaining focused on execution. You will demonstrate: - Extensive experience in enterprise programme and portfolio management
- Proven success establishing or uplifting a PMO function within large, complex organisations
- Strong capability in investment governance, resource planning, and benefits realisation
- Experience delivering or overseeing large-scale technology initiatives
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence Executive-level decision making
- Experience operating in decentralised or federated environments
- Ability to move between strategic oversight and hands-on delivery where required
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing delivery teams and improving capability over time
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, and delivery frameworks
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or related discipline (essential)
- PRINCE2, PMP, MSP or equivalent certification (essential)
- Postgraduate qualifications and Agile certifications (desirable)
