About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Support Officer to join our team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will support the finance function during a system implementation period, ensuring continuity of core financial operations.
You will assist with transactional processing, bank reconciliations, debtor follow-ups, and data accuracy checks, helping to maintain the integrity of financial records during the transition. The role requires someone who can quickly pick up processes with minimal training, work independently, and support the team in keeping finance operations running smoothly and accurately.
Duties
As the Accounts Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in our organisation by:
Performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
Following up on outstanding debtor balances
Assisting with the validation of financial data accuracy between the legacy system and the new system
Supporting transactional processing during the system implementation period
Assisting the finance team to ensure continuity, accuracy, and compliance processes, while supporting ad-hoc tasks as required.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
Previous experience in an Accounts Officer role across a range of responsibilities
Proficient in accurate data entry and document control, with strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to work effectively both autonomously and within a team, as well as under direction
