About the Role

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a trade qualified Demi Chef to join our culinary team at K'gari Beach Resort on the beautiful K'gari (Fraser Island). The Demi Chef is responsible for cooking and serving general and specialised meals for guests according to menu guidelines, recipes and direction from Senior kitchen team. 

 

You will bring a flair for creativity and a love for culinary pleasure, be an enthusiastic team player who is not just skilled in the kitchen but also passionate about delivering top-notch service and contributing to the resort magic.

 

Our restaurant - Mckenzie's on 75, operates a buffet breakfast, high-volume buffet lunch (feeding all the day tour buses too) and a high quality a 'la carte experience for dinner service. The Eurong Bakery is a bustling outlet and a local favourite amongst visitors to the island. Providing bread, donuts, freshly made sandwiches and a variety of hot food throughout the day.

 

This full-time role (76 hours per fortnight across a broad rostering system) requires you to relocate and live on the island at Eurong - the gateway to 75-mile beach.

 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent higher education (required)
  • Food Safety Course (Essential)
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Minimum 2-years in a demi chef role (preferred)
  • The ability to work across a broad rostering system
  • Advanced communication and organisational skills
  • Efficient and effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Previous experience within multi outlet resort / hotel environment
