Transit Systems is seeking a professional and proactive Recruitment Consultant to join our team.

About the role

 

This is a professional-level position responsible for supporting the People and Culture function by managing end-to-end recruitment processes for operational, frontline, and middle management roles. The position plays a key role in ensuring Transit Systems NSW attracts, selects, and retains high-quality employees, contributing to the organisation’s reputation as an employer of choice.

 

Reporting to the Recruitment and Training Manager, the successful candidate will partner with operational leaders and internal stakeholders to deliver effective recruitment outcomes aligned with business objectives.

 

Key Responsabilities

  • Partner with managers to identify workforce requirements and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities including advertising, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone and face-to-face interviews, and administer assessments where required.
  • Conduct reference checks and background screening processes.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and maintain regular communication with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Manage candidate experience and provide accurate information regarding employment conditions, company values, and expectations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external recruitment providers.
  • Ensure recruitment practices comply with company policies, Fair Work legislation, and relevant employment laws.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and utilise HR systems effectively.
  • Participate in workforce planning initiatives and support retention strategies.
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide reporting and feedback to management.


What do you need to succeed?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent).
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills, strong customer service focus and ability to build positive relationships with others.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong computer and technology competency.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and resolve conflicts in a positive manner.
  • A positive attitude and forward-thinking approach to find solutions for various situations.
  • Excellent time management skills and can manage conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Dependable, punctual and able to work in a multicultural and adaptable environment.
  • Empathy and active listening to understand candidate career motivations and client cultural fits.
  • Ability to interpret and apply recruitment policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Candidates with proficiency in other languages are encouraged to apply. 


What do you need to succeed?

  • Experience recruiting within transport, logistics, operational, blue-collar, or high-volume environments.
  • Experience using HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR/recruitment systems.
