About the Role
The role of casual Deckhand - Moggill Ferry will provide exceptional customer service and assist in the safe operation, maintenance and upkeep of the vessel.
Working in close conjunction with all crew, key duties will include:
- Providing excellent customer service
- Assisting with safe daily operations of the vessel
- Identifying and notifying Master/Operations of safety concerns and assist with implementation to prevent incidents
- Participating and contributing to emergency response plans
- Responsible for general maintenance and overall cleanliness of the of the vessel
- Carrying out deck patrols during shift and ensuring the vessel is protected from being damaged when in its berth
- Understanding and meeting the requirements detailed in the vessel’s Safety Management System, and actively participating in emergency response procedures
- Managing ticket sales and checks ensuring compliance
About You
- Provides exceptional customer service by having excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understands and has a commitment to adhere to all Work Health and Safety (WH&S) requirements
- Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail
- Works harmoniously within and across teams
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays and at other locations if required
- Be well presented and possess a polite and professional approach
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Elements of shipboard safety (ESS) and / or General Purpose Hand (GPH) - Essential
- Coxswains Grade 3 - Preferred
- Senior First Aid Qualification and CPR - Essential
- Highly developed interpersonal and solution focused skills to provide excellent customer service
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Experience working professionally in a small team
- Experience in the maritime transport industry
