Graduate Communications Officer

Transit Systems is one of Australia’s leading public transport operators, connecting communities every day across Sydney. We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Communications Officer to join our People and Culture team.

 

This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate looking to kick-start their career in communications within a fast-paced and operationally dynamic environment. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong initiative, creativity, and a genuine passion for communications, customer experience and stakeholder engagement.

 

This is a hands-on role where you will gain exposure across internal communications, customer communications, media coordination, social media and operational stakeholder engagement while working alongside experienced professionals within the industry.

 

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of PR and Communications, you will support the planning, development and delivery of internal, external and stakeholder communications across the business.

 

You will assist with creating engaging content, coordinating communication activities, supporting operational projects and helping ensure employees, customers and stakeholders remain informed and engaged.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of internal communications including newsletters, staff updates, posters and operational notices
  • Support customer and stakeholder communications relating to service updates and operational projects
  • Assist with drafting engaging content for social media and internal platforms
  • Support media coordination activities and communication responses where required
  • Maintain and update website and communication materials
  • Work collaboratively with operational and corporate teams across the business
  • Assist with communications campaigns, community engagement initiatives and customer experience activities
  • Provide administrative and project support to the Communications team as required

About You

  • Recently completed tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Media, Public Relations or a related discipline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow professionally
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Creative mindset with an interest in digital communications and storytelling
  • Confident engaging with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or social media platforms is desirable
  • Knowledge or interest in public transport and the Greater Sydney network is highly regarded
