About the Role

 

The HSE & Training Coordinator plays a crucial role within the SeaLink NT team by implementing and controlling health, safety and environment initiatives and strategies.

 

Working closely with the leadership team, employees and other key stakeholders, their expertise and dedication to maintaining a safe workplace will contribute to the overall success of the business.

 

This role is also pivotal is coordinating our Crew Training - liaising with our Operations Team and Crew to ensure scheduling and completion of onboarding, crew workbooks, safety drills and compliance training.

  • Maintain and continually improve the HSE and Vessel Safety Management Systems.
  • Promote a safe working environment and coordination of risk management processes.
  • Continually improve employee and management education and awareness.
  • Monitor training needs and the completion of emergency preparedness drills.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant regulatory and company safety requirements.
  • Conduct effective incident investigations to determine contributing factors and root causes.
  • Monitor the completion and effectiveness review of actions.
  • Conduct regular site visits, inspections, risk assessments and audits.
  • Drive, monitor, report and continually improve HSE performance.
  • Management of workers compensation claims.

About You

  • A confident, experienced, organised and results driven HSE professional, with excellent communication skills both in written form and verbally.
  • Highly motivated and driven individual to drive change and continuous improvement initiatives whilst fully engaging with our workforce.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Diploma or higher in work health and safety.
  • Trained in Incident Investigation.
  • Knowledge of WHS, Environmental, and Marine legislation and ability to interpret applicable legislation.
