About the Role

 

As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in discovering, preparing, and presenting data that empowers decision-making across Kelsian Group. Your focus will include optimising data migration for Workday, ensuring data quality, and building a foundation for analytics to provide meaningful insights to our teams and senior leaders.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategy and Planning

  • Support strategic goals of the Data & Analytics and Technology departments.
  • Work closely with the Workday project team to align data with strategic objectives.

Development and Systems Management

  • Map data imports into Workday from finance and HR systems globally.
  • Collaborate with data owners to enhance data quality pre-migration.
  • Develop robust data collection, transformation, and modelling patterns for curated analytics.
  • Maintain comprehensive reporting and dashboards for stakeholders.

Team Culture

  • Adhere to data processes and actively improve them.
  • Participate in review processes for quality assurance and team development.

Operational Excellence

  • Address issues and incidents through the IT Service Management tool.
  • Enhance team processes for prioritisation, scheduling, and task delivery.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Translate user needs into data and analytics requirements.
  • Support and mentor end users and data professionals across departments.

Budget and Resource Management

  • Ensure designs are optimised for responsible resource use.

 

About You

 

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify trends.
  • Proficiency in database technologies and data transformation methodologies.
  • Experience with legacy system data migrations, ERP implementation (Workday preferred).
  • Proficient in SQL and Python (or similar languages).
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good documentation and workflow management skills.
  • Highly motivated, with an eye for details and a collaborative spirit.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in analytical, numerical, or computational disciplines, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 2+ years in data and analytics, preferably in passenger transport, tourism, or corporate finance.
