The opportunity 

Kingfisher Bay Resort is World Heritage-listed K'gari (Fraser Island's) premiere eco accommodation. Nestled amongst tree-covered dunes, along the calm waters of the Great Sandy Strait, it is the perfect base for exploration. Discover the island's native surrounds with endless beaches, pristine freshwater lakes, lush rainforests and a spectacular range of wildlife. This 152-room resort features 4 outdoor pools, 3 restaurants, 4 bars and a variety of nature-based activities, walks and 4WD explorer tours.

Working up to 38 hours per week across multiple outlets; the ideal candidate will bring exceptional service standards and prior experience working within a hotel/resort F&B department. Your days could be spent mixing island-inspired cocktails at the Sunset Bar, serving up barista-made coffees at buffet breakfast, or taking ownership of a section within the busy al-la-carte restaurant.

Opportunities are available for local candidates able to commute via the barge at River Heads plus individuals or couples seeking staff accommodation.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role (al-la-carte, fine-dining, events/functions classic bistro or high-volume buffet)
  • Valid Queensland RSA
  • Wine and cocktail knowledge (desired)
  • Demonstrated barista experience (desired)
  • Valid Food Handling Certificate (or the ability to obtain)
  • Hold the right to live and work in Australia
