The opportunity

Tucked away amongst the trees along the calm western bay of K’gari (Fraser Island), lies Kingfisher Bay Resort- a haven of relaxation, and the ideal base to explore the destination’s World Heritage-listed sights. 

With hotel, villa and house accommodation, the resort’s dedicated team offer guests an array of culinary experiences, Ranger-guided nature walks and talks, an Island Day Spa, with guided 4WD tours and eco marine cruises departing daily.

The resort connects travellers to a series of bucket list experiences and natural wonders, including the famed Lake McKenzie, ancient Pile Valley rainforest, glistening Champagne Pools and the vast 75 Mile Beach.

 

The role  

Bring your experience working in a commercial kitchen to the dynamic kitchen team at Kingfisher Bay Resort. You'll be working in a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to work across different outlets within the resort alongside culinary professionals creating modern Australian cuisine. The successful candidate will have knowledge of food safety guidelines, chemical handling, basic food preparation skills and a hands-on approach to workspace storage and organisation. 

 

Based at the resort, this is an opportunity to live and work on the world's largest sand island. You’ll work alongside a team of approx 100 staff from around the world; the staff village located only a ten-minute walk from the resort. This is a permanent part-time opportunity, working up to 76 hours per fortnight across a broad 7-day rostering system.

 

Skills and experience you'll bring to the role:

  • Food Handling certificate - desirable
  • Manual licence – highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in a kitchen stewarding role
  • Efficient and effective time management skills
