Kelsian Group Limited is an ASX200 listed business with over 9,000 employees across Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. We are looking for an experienced, passionate and driven individual with extensive experience as a Commercial Manager - Bids & Projects.
About the Role
The Commercial Manager will help determine and drive the strategic direction of the Group to grow market share, increase earnings and enhance shareholder value.
The purpose of this role is to manage and support the commercial aspects of tender bids, proposals and acquisition opportunities led by the Corporate Development team. Key activities performed by this role includes direct management of significant commercial issues, leading commercial negotiations and supporting functional initiatives whilst liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Aside from reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will work collaboratively with business units and project leads in developing and pursuing tailored commercial proposals that adhere with Kelsian Group’s overall risk approach.
The role is integral within the Corporate Development team to ensure that we not only mitigate risk but also properly assess and identify commercial opportunities in a more structured and considered manner, ensuring projects are delivered in a safe and efficient manner.
As the Commercial Manager - Bids & Projects, you will be responsible for:
Contract review and risk identification
Review commercial arrangements and terms contained in proposals and contracts.
Perform contract reviews and formation and provide authoritative advice to senior management on matters relating to commercial opportunities and risk associated with the projects to ensure financial success of the projects.
Identify and manage commercial risks and liabilities, develop cost-effective means of managing those risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Guidance and project delivery
Provide commercial guidance and contractual input to allocated projects and bid teams as required.
Prepare commercial sections of proposals in accordance with the business requirements and Kelsian methodologies.
Work with leads to manage issues of foreign exchange, pricing escalation, payment arrangements, guarantees and insurance.
Preparation and presentation of commercial and contractual documentation, contributing to the corporate governance on commercial and contractual matters.
Presentation / delivery
Provide a strong delivery experience when assisting our bid and project teams with a variety of commercial matters.
Have a strong interface with internal and external lawyers.
Negotiate contractual and commercial terms with the clients, JV partners, subconsultants and other parties – both self-lead or with other Kelsian Group team members.
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you’ll have:
Already worked with multi-million dollar bid environment, experience with government services, assets and financing sector would be highly desirable as would experience in leading teams particularly in a project or bid environment.
Demonstrated commercial experience preferably in contract management or business administration area is essential
Well organised, thorough and professional approach, together with a high degree of motivation, initiative and enthusiasm
Strong team player and communicator with an ability to engage effectively with wide range of stakeholders and customers
Proficient user of MS Office skills especially word, excel and powerpoint.
Whilst, not essential, degree qualification in law, commerce or project management is preferred.
