Corporate Development - Associate Business Analyst

Kelsian Group Limited is an ASX200 listed business with over 9,000 employees across Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. We are looking for an experienced, passionate and driven individual with extensive experience as an Associate Business Analyst.

 

About the Role

 

The Associate Business Analyst (BA) will help improve the Group’s operations and support a sustainable and viable growth in market share. The Business Analyst will work closely with the Corporate Development team, the Business Intelligence team and in-house finance teams.

 

The BA will be responsible for establishing a holistic view of the Group’s performance to enable and drive sustainable growth. The key areas of responsibility will include (i) conducting thorough historical operational and financial analysis, (ii) identifying detailed underlying drivers for forecasting, (iii) establishing a database of relevant information by region and (iv) developing reports to support the ongoing development of the Group.

 

You will be a key part of the high-performing Corporate Development team, that works across the Group’s corporate and operational divisions around Australia and internationally. The BA will also collaborate with the Sydney based Business Intelligence team.

 

The position is based in Brisbane with opportunity for travelling interstate and / or relocation.

 

Your responsibilities:

 

Conducting business analysis

  • Develop a pathway for sourcing relevant information with the aim to underpin the Group's strategic growth strategy.
  • Undertake historical operational and financial analysis across multiple jurisdictions and identify general and region-specific correlations and trends.
  • Liaise with finance and operation teams across the Group to map interregional differences.
  • Identify and develop improvement initiatives and suitable key drivers to be used for forecasting.

Establish a Group database

  • Develop a database framework that captures and monitors the business analysis conducted.
  • Develop a method for interrogating new data, ensuring full integrity of the database.
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team and develop an agenda for key priorities.

Presentation / delivery

  • Develop interactive and relevant reports for operational management, senior executive management and the directors of the Board.
  • Present findings in an insightful manner and be able to propose improvements.

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you’ll have:

  • Work experience with a strong financial background having worked at either an accounting firm, management consulting firm or a leading advisory firm.
  • Fundamental knowledge of accounting principles and general business practices.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyse data and a willingness to work with others to establish insightful assessments. 
  • Proficiency in data platforms such as Incorta, netBI, PowerBI and / or other.
  • High-level reporting and presentation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills enabling you to present to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines and support others to meet tight deadlines.
  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification.

Whilst, not essential, degree qualification in finance, commerce or project management is preferred.
