Kelsian Group Limited is an ASX200 listed business with over 9,000 employees across Australia, Singapore and the United Kingdom. We are looking for an experienced, passionate and driven individual with extensive experience as a Corporate Development Analyst.

 

About the Role

 

The Corporate Development Analyst (CDA) will help determine and drive the strategic direction of the Group to grow market share, increase earnings and enhance shareholder value. The CDA will work closely with senior executives and operational management across the Group and be involved in all aspects of mergers, acquisitions, tenders and other Group growth initiatives.

 

The CDA will be responsible for (i) building financial and operating models, (ii) undertaking company valuations, (iii) conducting market research and opportunity identification and (iv) developing reports to support the ongoing development of the Group.

 

You will be a key part of the high-performing Corporate Development team, that works across the Group’s corporate and operational divisions around Australia and internationally.

 

The position is based in Brisbane.

 

Your responsibilities:

 

Develop comprehensive financial models with high integrity

  • Build smart and dynamic financial and operational model, tailored to each opportunity, with high integrity and minimal errors.
  • Adopt best-practice and up to date modelling practices for valuation and cash-flow models.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders such as Business Analysts, the Business Intelligence team, finance and operational managers to understand and prepare viable financial and operational assumptions. 

M&A and Bid Processes

  • Evaluate and execute business acquisitions and driving start up opportunities (identification, feasibility analysis, board presentations, execution, transmission and initial operation) as well as business improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to request for proposals, working with partner agencies and internal colleagues to project manage high quality bids and proposals.
  • Provide support to Operational Managers and Project Co-ordinators to pursue opportunities that may lead to expansion and new business or greater efficiencies within the existing business.
  • Contribute as required to market research, competitor analysis, input to development strategy.

Presentation / delivery

  • Prepare and present insightful business case reports and presentations to senior management and the directors of the Board.
  • Lead and support the development of Information Memorandums, Valuation reports and Board papers.

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you’ll have:

2-5 years of work experience with a strong financial background having worked at either an investment bank, management consulting firm or a leading advisory firm.

  • A strong understanding of financial modelling that allows senior executives to make data-based decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a willingness to work with others to find solutions that deliver improved business outcomes.
  • High-level reporting and presentation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills enabling you to present to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of corporate finance and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines and support others to meet tight deadlines.
  • Track record working in small, fast paced project teams.
  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification.
