About the Role

 

This position in our team creates an opportunity for you to join an award-winning tourism and transport company with an excellent reputation in quality products and professional customer service.

 

This exciting position requires a person who is energetic, motivated and enthusiastic.

 

As the Master your role is the safe and efficient operation and navigation of Company vessels, ensuring the vessel maintains compliance with all relevant policies. You are also responsible for passenger safety, the verification of and compliance with the Safety Management System on board, and for crew performance. 

 

About You 

 

To be successful in the role you must:

  • Make the guest experience on board the number one priority.
  • Work harmoniously within the team and always remain professional – even when off duty.
  • Have good management skills.
  • Be flexible to take on extra shifts if required. 
  • Be available at short notice to join a cruise when there are operational needs.
  • Be always well presented.
  • Be a good handyman.
  • Have good communication and customer service skills.
  • Have an understanding of the following:
    • Diesel Engines
    • Electrics, domestic and marine
    • Plumbing and pumping systems
    • Housekeeping

Key Skills that are essential to the role are:

  • Master <45m Certificate of Competency
  • Senior First Aid Qualification 
  • Minimum MED2 Qualification 
  • Current Driver's Licence 
  • Knowledge of Safety Management Systems 
  • Knowledge of WH&S Regulations
