ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for all functions of the company’s Finance department and related including Accounting, Auditing, Payroll and other financial activities carried out by the company.

Reports to the Managing Director NSW.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

• Manage the preparation of monthly and annual reporting, including board reporting within designated timeframes
• Variance analysis and commentary on management accounts to present at the monthly meeting with the Executive team
• Developing financial strategy, including risk minimisation plans and forecast opportunities for business improvement.
• High-level financial reporting and analysis on internal finance and contract compliance.
• Preparation of the annual budget and proactively manage variances of actual results to budget
• Cash flow management
• Improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the NSW business
• Stakeholder management, preparing reports and making improvements to processes and systems
• Oversee Debt management and collection
• Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations
• Manage the financial aspects of the government contract
• Overseeing management of payroll processing
• Working closely with management teams to share reports and analysis findings, including operational data
• Management, development and mentoring of a team of 4 staff
• Monitors and controls the security of the company's funds and resources.
• Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors. Implementation of effective processes to reduce risks.
• Other duties as directed

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelors or Master's Degree in Finance /Economics/Accounting/Business Administration/Business Law.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is necessary.
• Significant experience in the operation of private buses in Australia is desirable not necessary.
• Ability to liaise with Government officials, senior management of outside companies and company staff at all levels.
• Well-developed leadership skills and Stakeholder management capability.
