About the Role

 

Transit Systems is currently seeking an Operations Control Centre (OCC) Coordinator to take responsibility for the proactive monitoring and management of service delivery on the Transit Systems NSW bus network. The OCC Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and monitoring all radio communications and flow and real-time information to internal and external stakeholders and works collaboratively with the On Road Coordinator(s) and other supervisors.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Real-time service monitoring using Public Transport Information and Priority System (PTIPS) to actively monitor bus services.
  • Implement PTIPS policies and procedures to ensure effective communication, intervention and other actions to support service delivery.
  • Initiate and respond to radio communication with bus drivers, addressing incidents, traffic diversions and other operational concerns.
  • Maintain communication with depot management to handle operational matters including incidents, changeovers and service coordination.
  • Provide real-time information to external stakeholders such as the Traffic Management Centre and the Transport Info Line.
  • Monitor and coordinate with emergency services to promptly address risks, incidents or environmental hazards.
  • Review incidents and accidents to enhance service delivery, reduce risk and improve safety protocols.
