The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced information technology support specialist who is skilled with audiovisual systems and event production for the position of IT Support Specialist and Illumina Light Show Operator.  In this role you will be responsible in providing technical support for the resort's IT infrastructure (on island and mainland) while taking the lead as the primary show operator of Queensland's first permanent interpretive light show, the Illumina Light Show at Kingfisher Bay Resort on the beautiful K'gari (Fraser Island), Queensland.

This dual role requires expertise in IT systems of a complex multi-location business and audiovisual technology, alongside the ability to manage and deliver high-quality guest entertainment experiences.

Skills and Competencies

• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of IT systems, networking, and audiovisual technology.
• Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently under pressure.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with staff and guests.
• Organizational Skills: Strong ability to multitask, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
• Attention to Detail: Ensures the smooth operation of complex systems and exceptional show quality.
• Creativity: Brings innovative ideas to enhance the Illumina Light Show experience

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in IT support roles.
• Experience with audiovisual systems and event production is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with lighting control systems (e.g., DMX) and projection mapping is a plus.
• Strong understanding of Windows, macOS, and network administration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and operate live shows or events is an advantage.
