With our commitment to operational excellence and people-first values, we are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic Finance team. This role will process payroll for Kelsian Group and SeaLink Marine & Tourism employees.

 

About the Role - What will you do?

  • Maintenance of payroll and staff records; including processing new starters, terminations, and payroll adjustments.
  • Processing end-to-end weekly and fortnightly payrolls in MicrOpay Payroll software for multiple legal entities in Australia.
  • Maintenance and utilisation of Deputy (Time and Attendance System).
  • Assisting with the interpretation and ensuring correct application of Enterprise Agreements (EA), Awards, and Employment Contracts.
  • Application of CPI and FWC.
  • Support staff and management's payroll queries.
  • Preparation of reports, monthly reconciliations and journals.
  • Calculation and lodgement of payroll liabilities including group tax and superannuation.
  • Lodgement of payroll liabilities including payroll tax and WorkCover.  
  • Actively maintaining and supporting People & Culture systems and initiatives.

About You - Who do we want to apply?

 

We are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of payroll practices and their application. You will have exceptional attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Your experience in payroll processing and People & Culture related support, coupled with your ability to meet deadlines and deliver outstanding customer service, will be key to your success.

 

The successful applicant must also possess the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a payroll capacity.
  • Experience in interpreting and processing multiple industrial pay conditions.
  • Proven experience with end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards and tax compliance.
  • Logical thinking/problem solving.
  • Strong time management, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate with key stakeholders of all levels.
  • Experience in Payroll Software Systems.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Adaptability to change and follow written & verbal instructions and processes.

This role is based in our Adelaide Office located at 26 Flinders Street, Adelaide.
