About the Role We are seeking an experienced and professional Assistant Housekeeping Manager to join our dynamic team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on beautiful K'gari. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, you must be passionate about creating a skilled and positive team environment and prioritising operational requirement for the delivery of premium cleanliness of our 152 hotel rooms, 115 deluxe villas and private houses and resort public areas ensuring an exceptional customer experience is maintained. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will also be responsible for managing and ensuring compliance of department standard operating procedures in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager. This is a permanent part-time position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight. The successful candidate is available for an immediate start and must be able to relocate to the island for this "live-on" position. Key Role Responsibilities - Supporting the Housekeeping Manager with workforce management, administration, rostering and operational service of the entire housekeeping department.
- Supervise and perform various cleaning duties of Hotel Rooms and Apartments in compliance to resort standards
- Monitor and maintaining the cleanliness of guest rooms and provide necessary training to staff to ensure standards are met
- Supervise and provide mentorship to team leaders
- Monitor as required the disposal of laundry and garbage and recycle items where necessary
- Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to, including compliance of maintenance and HSE reporting.
Requirements - Minimum 2 years’ experience in a housekeeping manager or supervisor role in a similar environment and meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to lead a large team and create a close team environment
- Current Australian drivers licence (preferred)
- Previous hotel or resort cleaning experience
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and organise multiple tasks with a commitment to deliver results
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure and resolve problems
- Experience in motivating team members to achieve targets and outcomes
