About the Role

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a trade qualified Deni Chef to join our culinary team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on the beautiful K'gari (Fraser Island). The Demi Chef is responsible for cooking and serving general and specialised meals for guests according to menu guidelines, recipes and direction from the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef. 

 

You will bring a flair for creativity and a love for culinary pleasure, are an enthusiastic team player who is not just skilled in the kitchen but also passionate about delivering top-notch service and contributing to the resort magic.

This full-time role (76 hours per fortnight across a broad rostering system) requires you to relocate and live on the island at Kingfisher Bay Resort. 

 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent higher education (required)
  • Food Safety Course (Essential)
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol
  • Minimum 2-years in a demi chef role (preferred)
  • The ability to work across a broad rostering system
  • Advanced communication and organisational skills
  • Efficient and effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Previous experience within multi outlet resort / hotel environment
