Location: Leichhardt Employment Type: Fixed Term (12 months) – Potential for Extension Industry: Construction / Transport / Commercial Operations ABOUT THE ROLE Transit Systems is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Contracts and Commercial Administrator to support our Zero Emission Buses (ZEB) program. This is a 12-month fixed-term role with the potential for extension, offering a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting Australia’s transition to clean, sustainable transport. You will be responsible for commercial, legal, and administrative support to the ZEB Managers while working closely with our procurement, legal, and operational teams. This role is best suited for someone with a strong background in contracts, legal documentation and commercial matters, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sectors. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES - Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and legal contracts
- Update and manage contract records and systems, including Connec or similar platforms
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and external legal counsel regarding contractual obligations
- Monitor contract compliance and manage documentation throughout the contract lifecycle
- Assist with financial aspects, including invoicing, cost tracking, and budget alignment
- Maintain accurate records and correspondence related to contractual and commercial matters
- Support ZEB Managers with contract execution, supplier negotiations, and reporting
- Prepare documentation for tenders and assist with procurement processes
- Ensure contracts meet business needs and comply with applicable laws and internal policies
- Conduct legal and commercial research relevant to project and contract requirements
ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, you will bring: - A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Commerce, or a related field
- Additional legal qualifications or experience highly regarded
- Proven experience in contract administration or legal support, ideally within a construction or infrastructure environment
- Strong understanding of legal frameworks related to commercial contracts
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with contract management systems (e.g. Connec)
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment
