The Opportunity

 

We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic People & Culture Officer to join our dynamic team, based in Brisbane. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent or soon-to-be graduate who’s eager to build real-world experience across a broad range of people and culture initiatives.

 

You'll be part of a small but fast-paced team that works closely with our People & Culture teams and directly supports our leaders in Western Australia and Queensland. Opportunity to be coached by a strong P&C leader to develop skills in the full employment life cycle, end-to-end recruitment coordination to performance support, national forums, tender writing, investigations, enterprise bargaining, and policy development—you’ll gain exposure to it all.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment for operational and corporate roles.
  • Drafting position descriptions, job advertisements and employment contracts.
  • Support tender submissions with Workforce best practice and P&C-related content. 
  • Develop and maintain People & Culture and Safety content on our internal intranet.
  • Coordinate & assist with national P&C and Safety Forums and the Annual Conference.
  • Provide guidance to frontline leaders on performance management and return-to-  work processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR policies, tools and procedures.
  • Deliver the P&C Annual Plan.
  • Assist with board reports and data analytics to understand trends to implement proactive people solutions.

 

Requirements:

 

Previous experience working as a HR or Business Administrator, or in a similar role is desired as is a professional appearance and attitude.

  • Recent or soon-to-be graduate in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Industrial Relations or a related discipline

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to build relationships

  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

  • Interest in recruitment, industrial relations, policy, and employee experience

  • Strong writing skills and comfort using digital tools (e.g., Word, Excel, SharePoint & AI)

  • Self-starter with curiosity and a willingness to learn on the job

  •  Should possess multitasking abilities with the ability to work well under pressure and handle difficult situations with tact, confidentiality and diplomacy are essential.
