WORKSHOP MANAGER
MIDLAND CONTRACT

Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for operational excellence and team development?

 

Swan Transit is looking for an experienced and motivated Workshop Manager to lead operations across our Midvale, Mundaring, and Ellenbrook depots under the Midland Contract Area.

 

This pivotal leadership role plays a key part ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional public transport services across the Transperth network.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of multiple depots.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to workshop teams.
  • Ensure all fleet maintenance and repairs are carried out efficiently, safely, and in line with compliance requirements.
  • Manage work scheduling and reporting through our internal computerised workshop management systems.
  • Oversee PTA fleet and safety audits to maintain compliance and standards.
  • Conduct long-term operational planning and budget management for the workshops.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure stock levels are controlled effectively.
  • Be prepared to step in and drive a bus if required to support operational needs.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A trade qualification and experience with heavy vehicles are essential; familiarity with the Transperth bus fleet is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking, with budget and planning experience.
  • Solid computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and workshop management systems.
  • Solid understanding of HSEQ legislation and its practical application.
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving abilities.
  • A valid HR driver’s licence with PTD endorsement – or a willingness to obtain.
