About the Role

Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for cleanliness, team development, and guest satisfaction? Join our team at K’gari Beach Resort and take charge of our Housekeeping Department, ensuring our accommodation areas are sparkling clean and welcoming for every guest. This is a true working manager role, where you’ll lead from the front in a fast-paced, tropical resort environment.

You’ll work closely with your team on the floors throughout the day, supporting room turnarounds, maintaining standards, and ensuring operations run smoothly across multiple levels of the resort.

As our Housekeeping Manager, you’ll be responsible for staffing, training, rostering, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and presentation across the resort.

This role is well suited to someone who enjoys an active workday in a resort setting rather than a desk-based position and is a permanent live-on island position based in Eurong at K'gari (Fraser Island, Queensland).

Your key Responsibilities:
  • Workforce management, administration, rostering and daily operations
  • Actively supervise and participate in daily room cleaning and turnaround activities
  • Monitor and maintain high standards across guest rooms and public areas
  • Provide hands-on support to housekeeping teams during peak periods
  • Deliver training to ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and efficiency
  • Supervise and mentor Supervisors & Team Leaders
  • Follow policies and procedures, including compliance reporting & HSE requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Comfortable working in a hands-on role that involves being on your feet for extended periods, moving throughout a multi-level resort, and working in a warm, tropical outdoor environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in hotels and/or resorts
  • Meticulous attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and create a close team environment
  • Previous hotel and/or resort cleaning experience
  • Ability to prioritise and organise multiple tasks with a commitment to results
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and resolve problems
  • Experience motivating team members to achieve targets and outcomes
