The Opportunity
The People and Culture team are seeking a P&C Business Partner to join our fast-paced dynamic team. This role is integral to the partnering, supporting and managing of our two resorts on K'gari (Fraser Island) and our Marine/Tour Operations from Hervey Bay.
The Role
This is a true generalist HR role managing all activities from recruitment, HR lifecycle, case management, ER, workforce planning, culture and engagement initiatives, through to offboarding.
You will need a valid manual driver's licence and be able to work and drive across multiple sites of the business including our 4x4 carpool to drive across K'gari Island between resorts to work closely with various stakeholders to help run their business effectively.
It is essential that you are a team player to help your colleagues with all HR activities and systems. We have a high ratio of diversity employees with many of our people joining our team from around the world, the ability to be culturally sensitive and be able to communicate and build an inclusive workforce is essential. You need a high level of communication, strong attention to detail, strong networking ability to be able to influence and drive outcomes, as well as have a positive attitude.
This is a permanent full-time role working 5 days across 38 hours per week. Working days are negotiable - with an option to work Monday to Friday roster, or there is also the ability to work weekends and block rosters if you wish. It is expected that you work from K'gari Island most days.
Preference is for the successful applicant to live on K'gari Island at Kingfisher Bay Resort, where we provide accommodation options and meals, however, you can live in Hervey Bay and catch the 7am Ferry across every day for work if you wish.
Key Role Requirements
- Generalist HR experience across all areas of the HR Lifecycle.
- Advanced computer skills across different HR platforms and spreadsheets
- Partnering with leaders to provide coaching and hands on support in human resources activity, and employee management. Assisting managers with people centric conversations which may include performance management.
- Provide guidance to industrial instruments, EBAs and legislation to provide timely advice to support leaders and employees.
- Manage the process of Visa sponsorships when needed
- Support effective implementation of culture and engagement strategies
- Upkeep of relevant documentation inclusive of P&C related policies and procedures, Position Descriptions, Org charts, tracking, payroll information etc.
- Supporting Contracts, onboarding, payroll administration and collaboration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, be out and about in the business and work collaboratively across all functions.
- Any other duties or projects as required.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Currently working in a Generalist HR Role, or appropriate experience
- Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources field
- Demonstrated people management and engagement experience in a culturally diverse environment with the ability to coach and mentor staff.
- The ability to prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Can do positive attitude, and problem solver.
- High level of interpersonal, liaison and consultation skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to pick up systems quickly and easily
- Experience working in hospitality, hotels and resorts would be well received.
- Ability to work well in a team, to help others and get your hands dirty.
