This role will help us deliver meaningful people initiatives that support our leaders, our teams, and the employee experience across our marine and tourism operations. About the Role The People & Culture Advisor supports leaders across SEQ by providing first‑line HR and policy advice, maintaining compliant documentation, assisting with performance and ER matters, and supporting recruitment (advisory only). You’ll help deliver national system and process changes locally, create clear guides and templates, and run short training sessions that build leader capability. This role blends practical HR delivery, documentation, and project coordination — ideal for someone who enjoys supporting operational leaders and improving how things work. What You’ll Do - Provide first‑line HR, policy, Industrial Instrument and payroll‑related advice to employees and leaders, resolving queries in collaboration with managers and payroll as needed.
- Work with employees, managers, and payroll to investigate and resolve queries.
- Interpret HR policies and industrial instruments clearly and consistently for employees and leaders.
- Support early‑stage performance, attendance, and behavioural matters, including preparing draft correspondence and guiding leaders through next steps.
- Assist senior or complex recruitment processes by providing advice, documentation support, and quality checks.
- Develop and maintain quick reference guides, FAQs, leader toolkits, workflows, and other HR documentation.
- Recommend improvements to policies, processes, and document control.
- Support induction and training processes by preparing materials, coordinating sessions, and assisting employees, managers, and payroll with training‑related queries.
- Develop simple tools, checklists, and guides to address capability gaps and strengthen training outcomes.
- Gather and summarise training feedback to inform continuous improvement of training content and delivery.
- Support employee engagement initiatives by coordinating activities, assisting with engagement survey administration and follow‑up, and helping deliver recognition programs such as awards and appreciation campaigns.
About You You’re proactive, relationship‑focused, and confident jumping into a variety of people challenges. You communicate clearly, coach leaders with ease, and turn complex HR and Award rules into simple, practical guidance. You stay organised, deliver accurate work, and keep projects moving with energy and focus. You Will Bring: - HR qualifications and/or experience in a generalist advisory role
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly and communicate effectively with people at all levels, adapting your style to suit different roles, personalities, and situations.
