Workshop Manager

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Workshop Manager to lead our maintenance function and enhance our operational performance. 

 

About the Role

 

The Workshop Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operational performance of our bus and coach fleet. This role involves leading a team to ensure the safe, compliant, and cost-effective maintenance of our vehicles. You will collaborate closely with Operations leadership to minimise vehicle downtime, optimise fleet availability, and uphold high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

 

Duties

  • Fleet Maintenance: Oversee preventive maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime.
  • Workshop Management: Direct daily operations and allocate resources for efficient service delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor staff and promote a collaborative, safety-focused environment.
  • Procurement: Manage parts procurement, ensuring competitive pricing and cost control.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety regulations through regular reviews and incident investigations.
  • Operational Coordination: Collaborate with Operations to optimise vehicle availability and technical support.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade Qualification as Heavy Diesel Mechanic
  • Western Australian HR Driver’s Licence (preferred)
  • Proven experience in managing a heavy vehicle workshop environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of heavy diesel engines, driveline systems, and electrical systems.
  • Experience in managing maintenance programs for commercial vehicle fleets.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop workshop staff.
