We’re looking for an experienced Senior Scheduler to join our Service Planning Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, network optimisation, and major business growth initiatives across NSW and beyond. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence how services are designed, delivered, and improved—working on everything from network redesigns and performance uplift projects to tenders, acquisitions, and major transitions. What You’ll Be DoingAs Senior Scheduler, you’ll lead strategic scheduling and service planning initiatives that improve network efficiency, customer outcomes, and commercial performance. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading timetable, vehicle, crew scheduling, and rostering improvements across the network
- Designing innovative service solutions using Hastus and other scheduling tools
- Driving major business growth initiatives including tenders, acquisitions, and contract transitions
- Analysing operational performance data, KPIs, and network trends to identify opportunities
- Delivering reports, recommendations, and business improvement proposals to senior leaders
- Conducting field surveys and research to support evidence-based decision making
- Working closely with Operations, Network Planning, Depot teams, and Leadership
- Mentoring junior schedulers and building future scheduling capability within the business
- Supporting safe, compliant, and fatigue-aware scheduling outcomes aligned with NHVR and EBAs

What We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking a highly capable scheduling professional with deep technical knowledge and strong commercial awareness. Essential Experience- Strong experience in public transport scheduling and service planning
- Advanced proficiency in Hastus scheduling software
- Deep understanding of:
- Timetabling
- Vehicle scheduling
- Crew scheduling
- Rosters
- Resource optimisation
- Strong knowledge of cost drivers including buses, hours, kilometres, and staffing
- Experience improving on-time running and operational efficiency
- Proven ability to resolve complex scheduling conflicts and operational challenges
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance and route data
- Excellent stakeholder management across operations and leadership teams
Leadership Capability- Experience mentoring or leading junior schedulers
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and operational priorities
- Strong presentation and reporting skills
- Proactive and solutions-focused mindset
Qualifications- Degree in Transport Planning, Logistics, Engineering, Operations, or related discipline
- Equivalent industry experience highly regarded
