SeaLink South East Queensland is inviting Expressions of Interest for an internal opportunity as our next Cafe Team Leader, supporting our fast-paced and customer-focused Departure Lounge team. From the 5.30am coffee rush to lunchtime service, you’ll lead a small team delivering great food and customer service to our passengers.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the Café Manager and Operations & Admin Coordinator, who manage admin, rosters and stock across all cafés - so you can focus on what matters most: smooth daily operations, team performance and customer experience.
While this position is ideally full-time, we are open to considering part-time, casual or job share arrangements for suitable internal applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Departure Lounge café staff.
- Open café and prepare for morning trade.
- Delegate tasks and maintain operational efficiency.
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Prepare fresh menu items and barista-made coffee.
- Handle cash and daily reconciliation.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all café areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and company policies.
About You
- 2+ years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with experience in a customer-facing or food and beverage environment highly regarded.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Passion for customer service and team development.

- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA): Essential
- Food Safety Certificate: Essential

- Coffee making skills: Excellent
- First Aid/CPR Certificates: Essential
