About the RoleReporting into the NSW Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing and payroll administration support for a large operational workforce. You will also contribute to payroll compliance initiatives, reporting, system testing, and continuous improvement activities.
This role requires a high level of attention to detail, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments including Operations, Workshop, Finance, and People & Culture. Key Responsibilities- Process weekly and fortnightly payrolls accurately and within designated deadlines
- Identify payroll compliance discrepancies relating to industrial instruments and award interpretation, escalating and tracking issues through to resolution
- Maintain payroll integrity through accurate data entry and employee record management
- Process payroll adjustments, allowances, leave reconciliations, and termination payments
- Manage superannuation updates and payroll-related statutory obligations
- Support workers’ compensation payroll processing and adjustments
- Liaise with operational teams regarding timesheets and payroll queries
- Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and system testing activities
- Ensure all payroll information is handled with strict confidentiality and professionalism
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across payroll processes and systems
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring: - Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Fair Work requirements, awards, and compliance obligations
- Experience working within large operational or unionised environments (highly regarded)
- Experience using payroll systems such as Chris21, Micropay, TIMS, or similar
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational capability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment
