Be part of what makes the experience great Work in the Beautiful Whitsundays National Tourism Award Winning Company About the Role Located in the heart of Airlie Beach, SeaLink Whitsundays is a division of SeaLink Marine and Tourism - Australia's largest Marine and Tourism company, incorporating Red Cat Adventures and Whitsunday Jet skis. As part of the maintenance team the Trade Assistant plays a pivotal role in assisting our maintenance team by leading the smooth, effective and efficient running of all aspects of marine maintenance. This role will support our qualified Maintenance Officers and Manager with day-to-day repairs, preventative maintenance, vessel and equipment upkeep, equipment handling, and general trade support across our operations. The successful applicant will be hands-on, safety-focused, willing to learn, and able to work as part of a team in a busy operational environment. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager the position will be responsible for but not limited to: - Good practical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-focused.
- Flexible and willing to assist wherever required.
- Comfortable working in an island or remote environment if required.
- Current driver’s licence desirable.
- Relevant tickets, licences, or trade-related experience would be an advantage.
- Role Requirements
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Willingness to work across different maintenance areas as required.
- Willingness and ability to work and live on an island as part of the role, if rostered.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Ensure all maintenance is performed to quality standards and compliance.
- Work closely with operations to coordinate maintenance schedules
- Report on maintenance performance
- Support emergency preparedness
- Ensure the Work Health and Safety obligations are followed.
