About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Master IV Skipper to join our K'gari (Fraser Island) Barges team. Reporting to the Marine Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the daily operational duties are carried out on the vessel, in accordance with legal requirements, policies and procedures.

Key Role Requirements

  • The ability to safely operate any of the three passenger ferries in the fleet
  • Display a high standard of customer service to guests travelling to Fraser Island
  • Ensure Guest safety upon embarking and disembarking of the vessel
  • Conduct safety drills in accordance with emergency procedures
  • Coordination of loading / unloading vehicles and cargo
  • Oversee and assist in fuelling, maintenance and general cleaning of the vessel

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Skipper Master IV - Essential
  • MED III - Essential
  • Adherence to maritime safety operations and legislation
  • High regard for exceptional customer service
  • Time management skills & ability to work in a team
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • A valid Queensland RSA – or the ability to obtain one for work 
  • Current drivers license
