The PS Murray Princess is the largest inland paddle wheeler in the Southern Hemisphere. Accommodating a maximum of 120 guests and operating 3, 4 and 7 night cruises on the Murray River from Mannum, 87 kilometres from Adelaide, this stunning vessel attracts guests from all over Australia and the world.
About the Role
Due to an internal promotion we require a Guest Service Attendant. The Guest Service Attendant is an integral position in the hospitality operations on the Murray Princess. Their primary function is to achieve and exceed sales goals through highly developed promotional skills. They are responsible for the day to day operations of the souvenir shop including stock supplies, control and ordering, food preparation and serving, processing transactions, producing daily financial reports and cleanliness of the souvenir shop and equipment. They will promote the highest possible standards, continuously driving maximum sales results while delivering superior customer service.
The Guest Service Attendant works in close conjunction with the Bar Manager and is required to assist in the bar as part of a regular roster and may perform duties including serving, cocktail mixing, tray and table service, wine waiting and general cleaning. They also are required to assist with the scheduled gangway watch as required.
The primary function of the Cabin Waiter role is the provision of excellence in guest service through efficient, safe and hygienic accommodation and waiter servicing, including cabin and bathroom cleaning and cleaning of public areas. The position also involves dining room set up, drink waiting, polishing of cutlery, guest boarding, folding of napkins and clearing plates.
The roster is comprised of a 50% split between these roles. The roster rotation is 14.5 days on / 13.5 off / 14.5 on / 6.5 off.
This position requires energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, and multi skilling, time management and a passion for selling a wide assortment of products while demonstrating exceptional selling skills and product knowledge.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Recognized Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
- Espresso Coffee Making
- 1 year of hotel, restaurant or cruise ship experience
- Experience in food and beverage service
- Experience in working in a fast paced team
- Senior First Aid
- Food Safety Course
- Drivers License
