About Us


The PS Murray Princess is the largest inland paddle wheeler in the Southern Hemisphere.  Accommodating a maximum of 120 guests and operating 3, 4 and 7 night cruises on the Murray River from Mannum, 87 kilometres from Adelaide, this stunning vessel attracts guests from all over Australia and the world.


About You

  • Self-motivated
  • Attention to detail in preparation & presentation of food
  • Attention to staff requirements, work schedules, hygiene and maintenance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Police Clearance Certificate

These key requirements will be complimented by experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Food hygiene / handling course / training – Desirable
  • Previous experience in food & beverage / catering – Desirable
  • Experience in food provision services – Desirable

About the role


This position is an integral part of our galley (kitchen) team. Tasks include food preparation, food service, dishwashing, pot scrubbing, cleaning of crew mess and galley. The Galley hand is responsible for the maintenance of health and hygiene standards as required for a commercial kitchen under the guidance of the Head Chef and is required to keep all food service and preparation equipment clean and hygienic at all times, adhere to daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule, adhere to food safe guidelines and chemical safety as set by the company standard under the direction of the Head Chef.


This role requires energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, and multi-skilling and time management.


All meals and accommodation on board the Murray Princess when rostered on duty are included. Transport from Adelaide CBD to Mannum is provided if required.
