This is a multifunctional and varied role reporting to the People and Culture Manager for SeaLink South Australia. We are welcoming two brand new ferries to our Kangaroo Island Service in 2026, which is super exciting.
As a result, we have significant operational changes occurring across SeaLink South Australia to support the Kangaroo Island Ferry Service, meaning your ability to be agile will be critical.
About the Role

This role will support a variety of administrative functions and duties, including project work to ensure we report and meet our Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as set by the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT). We require a person with meticulous attention to detail, a thirst to learn, the ability to meet deadlines, and the ability to identify and continuously improve our efficiencies.
The variety of tasks that will come your way will require energy, commitment, initiative, teamwork, multi-skilling and time management as you liaise with members of the SA Leadership team, including the General Manager SA.
This role is based in Adelaide, with regular travel to Mannum, Cape Jervis and Penneshaw.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Meet monthly and weekly deadlines for safety, HR and operations
- Prepare and assist with the various operations to support crew rostering
- Ordering of essential stocks for all our vessels, including uniforms & name badges
- Assisting with the coordination of training needs and follow-up reporting
- Assist with coordinating trainees and the ongoing relationship with our external providers
- Updating and maintaining various HR platforms
- Coordinate the distribution of service recognition and COMPASS Awards
- Provide backup and support to various areas, including the General Manager, HR and Marine Operations
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have previous rostering experience
- Hold a 'can-do' attitude and be results-driven
- Provide a high level of quality support services to the SA Leadership Group
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained across the operations
- Provide organisational and planning skills to prioritise competing demands
- Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills to enable professional interaction with a broad range of people
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative role
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise (intermediate) in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficiency using SharePoint and Teams
- Current National Police Clearance
- SA Drivers Licence
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Leadership or Business Administration; or
- Certificate IV in Human Resource Management; and or
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
