About the Opportunity
Join our vibrant kitchen team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on beautiful K'gari. We’re looking for a Cook who is passionate about preparing quality meals, working as part of a supportive team and delivering memorable dining experiences for guests across our resort outlets.
About the Role
The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving general meals for guests in line with menu guidelines, recipes, resort standards and direction from the Head Chef or Sous Chef. You will work across multiple resort outlets, including Sand & Wood Restaurant, Dune Restaurant and Sand Bar, helping maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety.
Key Role Requirements
- Prepare, cook and serve general meals for guests according to menu guidelines, recipes and direction from senior kitchen leaders.
- Maintain excellent hygiene, cleanliness, food safety and Workplace Health & Safety standards in the kitchen.
- Support quality, presentation and timely delivery of meals in line with company policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Food and Beverage Attendants, Apprentices, Kitchen Stewards and the wider kitchen team.
- Assist with stock management, stocktake, kitchen set-up and working across resort outlets and split shifts as required.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery, such as Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- Food Safety Course essential, with Responsible Service of Alcohol desirable.
- Previous experience in a high-volume, multi-outlet resort, hotel or commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and within set guidelines.
- A positive can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, strong presentation standards and a passion for creating quality cuisine.
