The Opportunity

 

Picture this: you wake up each day on the world's largest sand island, surrounded by pristine beaches, ancient rainforests, and crystal-clear lakes, then head off to work at one of Australia's most significant resort food and beverage operations. This isn't just any job – it's a lifestyle opportunity that combines executive-level responsibility with the unique privilege of living and working in a UNESCO World Heritage environment. 

 

This is a key leadership role within our management team, working closely with and alongside our chefs, cooks, and stewards to deliver consistent, high-quality food operations across the resort. With four kitchens, three restaurants, staff dining rooms, and multiple event spaces, the role requires a hands-on leader who can support daily operations, guide the team, lead food safety standards, and help drive a strong, professional kitchen culture.

 

About You
We are seeking a Trade Qualified Executive Sous Chef with at least 4 years' experience and a Sous Chef and who has the following qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate III or IV Commerical Cookery or equivalent qualification (essential)
  • Diploma Hospitality Management (desirable)
  • Food Safety and Hygiene training
  • Experience working in a high-volume kitchen
  • Experience working in a hotel/resort (highly regarded)
