About the Opportunity 
  
Join our Tours and Workshop team as a Detailer, working with our rotating fleet of vehicles based at our mainland workshop in Urangan, Hervey Bay, with opportunities to work and stay on K'gari as required. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, a practical hands-on approach and pride in keeping vehicles clean, presentable and ready to support memorable guest experiences. 


The primary purpose of the Detailer role is to maintain SeaLink K'gari’s rotating fleet of vehicles and plant in a clean, safe and presentable condition. You will be responsible for washing, polishing, vacuuming, cleaning interiors and exteriors, completing minor touch-ups and supporting the workshop team to keep vehicles ready for operation. The role may also involve driving and relocating heavy vehicles, including buses and trucks, as required. This role may require work on K’gari, including overnight stays, as operational needs arise. 
  
Key Role Requirements

  • Actively follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures, including safe manual handling, correct use of equipment and safe handling of cleaning chemicals. 
  • Wash, dry, polish and wax vehicle and plant exteriors to ensure the fleet is clean and presentable.
  • Vacuum and clean vehicle interiors, including carpets, upholstery, compartments, windows, tyres and wheel arches. 
  • Apply appropriate cleaning agents to remove stains and complete minor touch-ups or paint restoration tasks where required. 
  • Drive and relocate heavy vehicles, including buses and/or trucks, as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the workshop and yard areas, including sweeping, tidying workspaces, removing waste and supporting general yard duties as required. 

 
Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in auto detailing or a similar vehicle cleaning/detailing role. 
    MR driver’s licence preferred, with the ability to drive and relocate heavy vehicles as required. 
  • Physically fit and able to complete hands-on work for extended periods. 
    Strong attention to detail, a positive can-do attitude and the ability to work unsupervised within set guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach when working with guests, team members, contractors and visitors.
