At Transit Systems NSW, our Finance team provides the financial insight and reporting that supports safe, reliable, and efficient public transport services. We're seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team on a 6–12 month fixed-term contract. If you enjoy financial reporting, analysis, and working in a fast-paced environment, this is a great opportunity to make an impact within a leading transport organisation. What You'll Be Doing - Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Manage cash flow forecasting and variance analysis
- Complete balance sheet, payroll, and general ledger reconciliations
- Maintain the fixed asset register and loan schedules
- Process creditors and reconcile contract income and debtors
- Ensure compliance with BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and superannuation obligations
- Support year-end financial reporting and external audits
- Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights and improve business performance
What We're Looking For - CPA or CA qualified (or working towards completion)
- 5+ years' accounting experience in a commercial environment
- Experience with management accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Desirable - Experience with TIMS Analytics or similar ERP systems
- Experience in transport, logistics, or large operational businesses
