About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead the SeaLink Marine (Auckland, NZ) business. This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on delivering operational excellence, building high-performing teams, and driving sustainable business growth.
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, performance and strategic direction of the business, ensuring the safe, efficient and profitable delivery of services while fostering strong customer and stakeholder relationships.
You will lead all aspects of the business, including people leadership, financial management, marine operations and asset performance, strategy, performance and business growth, risk, safety and compliance and customer service. You will ensure contractual obligations are met, financial targets are achieved, and the business continues to identify and capitalise on opportunities for growth.
About You
You are an accomplished senior leader with a proven ability to manage complex operations and deliver strong commercial outcomes. You are equally comfortable developing strategy, leading people and building trusted relationships with employees, customers, government agencies, regulators and industry partners. Ideally, you will have experience in managing marine operations.
You will bring:
High level leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead diverse operational and management teams
Substantial experience leading a marine, transport, infrastructure, public transport or similarly regulated operational business
Proven experience managing major client relationships, government contracts, service delivery contracts or public sector stakeholders.
Strong financial management experience, including budgets, forecasts, cost control and operational performance improvement.
Demonstrated experience leading safety-critical operations in a highly regulated environment
Experience in strategic planning, business plan implementation, change management, contract mobilisation or new asset introduction
Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with regulators, government agencies, employees, customers, suppliers and community stakeholders.
Experience dealing with regulators, government agencies, political stakeholders, media, public affairs or crisis communications.
