About the Role
As a Master <45m, you will be responsible for the safe navigation and operation of our vessels while ensuring a high standard of customer service for both passengers and crew. You will lead by example, maintaining a strong safety culture while delivering reliable and professional ferry services across Brisbane's river network. Key Responsibilities - Safely navigate and operate vessels across the RiverCity Ferries network
- Conduct safe berthing, mooring and unmooring operations
- Lead and manage crew members in a professional manner
- Ensure the safety and welfare of passengers and crew
- Deliver exceptional customer service
- Comply with all maritime legislation, company procedures and safety requirements
- Respond effectively to operational and emergency situations
- Maintain vessel operational readiness and complete required reporting
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism and teamwork
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess: - Essential Requirements
- Current Master <45m Certificate of Competency
- Current MED 3 (minimum)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays and varying shift times
- Strong commitment to safety, customer service and professionalism
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow and implement procedures and instructions
Highly Regarded - Previous passenger ferry experience
- Local knowledge of Brisbane River operations
- Leadership experience within a maritime environment
